Meet The Team

  • Hailey

    Hailey

Hailey graduated with a Degree in Fashion Design and Textiles in 2013 from Lasalle College of the Arts, with 2nd Upper Hons.

Her designs have won her numerous accolades and recognitions including the Top 5 Designers in Lasalle's Degree Graduate Collection and her fashion pieces were featured in Germany's Next Top Model.

She has worked with local designers and as a sportswear designer where she has gained considerable experience working with knit fabrics, building up collections and managing production.

  • Yukim

    Yukim

Yu Kim grew up watching her grandmother sew, which kickstarted her interest towards textiles and sewing from a young age. She has worked in many different areas from fashion, to TV and theatre. A cheerful and patient lady, she is always ready to demonstrate and guide others through their sewing projects.

  • Selasih

    Selasih

Selasih is currently writing her brilliant introduction. Come back soon!

  • Regine

    Regine

Regine studied Fashion Design at Temasek Polytechnic in 2016 and then went on to experiment with baking, landing her a job at a Japanese pastry shop. She thoroughly enjoys the hands-on approach to learning and creating.

Her appreciation for the magic in the systematic processes of creation runs deep - from conceptualisation to completion. It was her love for crafts that brought her to Fashion Makerspace, where she wishes to impart her knowledge and passion.

  • Rosemelin Bte Buang

    Rosemelin Bte Buang

Rosemelin Bte Buang chose to walk the tailoring route as a career once she became a mother and has never looked back since.

With over 30 years in the trade, she has tons of experience and tricks up her sleeves. Her nurturing demeanour, coupled with her acute sense of humour makes her truly fun to be with.

  • Faathimah

    Faathimah

While juggling between work and studying for a double Diploma in Fashion Technology, Faathimah found herself exploring different products in Fashion Makerspace almost everyday in the studio.

She started out as a little fan, and developed interest to be a maker here. Inspired to inspire, she loves to surround herself with people who have similar interests and finds it amazing that a life-skill could bring anyone of any background together.

Faathimah may look shy, but in actual fact can be quite a chatterbox and is easily amused with just about anything - her own jokes included.

  • Nadiah

    Nadiah

Nadiah is currently writing her brilliant introduction. Come back soon!

  • Shareen

    Shareen

Shareen pursued her Fashion Design studies at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, where she was inspired to bring the sharing and embracing spirit of "makerspaces" back to Singapore.

As a student, she won 1st place and was a finalist for a few competitions co-organised by FIDM and Cotton Incorporated. She then worked as a Fashion and Textile Designer in Los Angeles and also interned for companies like BCBG Maxazria.

She has since completed digital fashion and textile courses at the Central Saint Martins College in London and also worked as a sportswear designer.

Our Story

Inspired by the culture & practices of makerspaces in the west, Fashion Makerspace was born to inspire growth & fuel the passion of learning in a conducive, open & friendly environment.

Since 2015, we began our journey to provide a creative, friendly and nurturing environment in the fields of fashion, dressmaking & digital design for our valued students & partners. Aspiring to bring artisanal sewing & patternmaking skills into the makers’ hands, and letting them into the gratifying experience of realising their creations. Over the years, we have grown into a community bonded by creative skills, knowledge & camaraderie.

We hope to ENABLE everyone and anyone with this treasured craft, from kids to adults, whether for their personal interest, cause or livelihood, to pursue this journey with us and along the way, delve deeper into how our skills can help others and the environment.
