Who We Are
After having received her diploma in Apparel Design & Merchandising in Temasek Polytechnic, Emma continued her fashion journey with Fashion Makerspace.
She believes in reaping what she sows and is continuously working towards honing her sewing skills, broadening her knowledge and adapting different teaching methods to make sewing an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Away from the sewing machine, she is a talented and creative illustrator with her signature style in ManyEmmas.
Possibly the most artistically talented administrator, and the backbone and connecting veins of Fashion Makerspace. Siti pursued her diploma in Moving Images in Temasek Polytechnic, that's why she moves so quickly with the times.
Her previous work had been nominated and won various film festivals and even led her to Japan. However she believes in exploring and challenging new opportunities. Hence, here she is with the Brady bunch.
Behind the iMac and phone, she dishes out great humour. She loves traveling and documenting them and meeting new people who share the same interest.
Hailey graduated with a Degree in Fashion Design & Textiles in 2013 from Lasalle College of The Arts, Singapore, with 2nd Upper Hons. Her designs have won her numerous accolades and recognitions including the Top 5 Designers in Lasalle's Degree Graduate Collection and her fashion pieces were featured in Germany's Next Top Model. She has worked with a few local designers and as a sportswear designer where she has gained considerable experience working with knit fabrics, building up collections and managing production.
Raine completed her degree in Fashion Design and Development from London College of Fashion, along with a diploma in Professional Studies obtained through its sandwich year. In London, she interned in the studios of Danish designer Peter Jensen, and David Koma, who is also the present creative director of Mugler. She was a designer for a fast fashion label.
In a 3-year fully-sponsored scholarship by the Monbukagakusho in Japan, she has also completed a diploma in Garment Creation from Bunka Fashion College, Tokyo, which saw her garment selected for display in the annual college open house, the Bunka Festival.
Shareen pursued her Fashion Design studies at the Fashion Insitute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, where she was inspired to bring the sharing and embracing spirit of "makerspaces" back to Singapore. As a student, she won 1st place and was a finalist for a few competitions co-organized by FIDM & Cotton Incorporated. She then worked as a Fashion & Textile Designer in Los Angeles and also interned for companies like BCBG Maxazria. She has since completed digital fashion & textile courses at the Central Saint Martins College in London and also worked as a sportswear designer.
Inspired by the culture and practices of makerspaces in the west, Fashion Makerspace was born to inspire growth and fuel the passion of learning in a conducive, open and friendly environment.
Founded in 2015, we have continued to impart the skills of dressmaking, sewing and digital design to our valued students and partners & hope to continue this journey with them for a long time to come.
Fashion Makerspace’s vision is to build a community bonded by creative skills, knowledge and camaraderie.
